SIA “JLD,” was founded in 1995 and has grown into one of the leading landscaping companies in Latvia with a fleet of 80 units of truck equipment.
Since 2023, METSATEK has been JLD's partner in maintenance and repair of technical units. However, at the end of 2024, one of the most significant jobs was done - the restoration of a tipper truck frame. As a result, the company saved significant financial resources in the long term and the technical unit continues to work!

What is SIA JLD and what services does it provide?
SIA “JLD” was founded in 1995 by Jānis Lasis. Gradually developing and introducing new services every year, we have become one of the leading landscaping companies in Latvia. Additionally, in 1999, SIA “JLD” acquired the tree nursery “Bulduri”, which is currently one of the leading ones in Latvia. Our total area of operation is 35ha. We plan to develop it further in the near future.
The range of services includes territory development, improvement and landscaping works for both private and public objects. Design, installation and maintenance of greenery, lawn mowing, paving. Design, installation and inspection of playgrounds. Delivery of various bulk materials (black soil, sand, gravel, bark mulch), snow removal in winter, leaf removal in autumn, tree crown care, stump milling and branch chipping. We also offer rental of various equipment.
We provide our services throughout the year. We carry out most of the work in the city of Jurmala, as well as in various private properties. We take care of the preservation, improvement and monitoring of the environment. With 30 years of experience in our field, we are a great help to both private individuals, companies and municipalities looking for green area management throughout Latvia.
How did JLD's collaboration with METSATEK begin?
Our first acquaintance with METSATEK services took place in the summer of 2023, when we were looking for a company that could perform maintenance and repair work on a HIAB manipulator. JLD has an MB Actros in the fleet – a three-way tipper truck, a trailer tractor and most importantly – a HIAB manipulator mounted on its chassis. This truck combines lifting, handling and moving functions. An indispensable assistant in transporting heavy loads, as well as performing precise work in hard-to-reach places. Therefore, it was important to find a partner who would carry out high-quality maintenance work in a timely manner.
Why did you decide to restore the tipper truck and entrust this work to METSATEK?
The choice to restore the frame of a Citroen tipper truck was due to a number of practical and business-related needs. The frame of a tipper truck, even a small one, is a very important part that ensures stability, safety and the ability to perform work related to the transportation of any cargo. Safety comes first, so we decided to entrust the frame repair work to professionals rather than doing it ourselves. METSATEK's industrial-quality work means that the equipment's working capacity is maintained for a longer time and additional repairs are avoided in the future.
We wanted to improve the durability of the vehicle, ensure its operational reliability and reduce costs in the long term – both in terms of the time spent if we tried to repair it ourselves, and in terms of the eventual purchase of a new tipper truck of this type. In my opinion, this approach to high-quality restoration helps to preserve and improve the value of the equipment. Especially when it is important to plan and carry out work in the long term.
